Frequently Asked Questions

Q. I only play sports as a hobby. Can I still be seen?

A. Yes, of course. This service is not only for top athletes but for all women who enjoy sports, whether through club activities or as a hobby. Regardless of your competitive level, sport, or age, please feel free to consult us about any concerns, such as menstrual issues or problems with your condition.

Q. What kind of specialists will examine me?

A. You will be supported primarily by physicians who are certified sports doctors of the Japan Sport Association and are knowledgeable about women’s bodies and conditioning, working in cooperation with certified sports dietitians and mental health specialists.

Q. Can someone other than the athlete consult you?

A. Yes. We also accept consultations from coaches or guardians alone. Please make use of this to support athletes’ health management and conditioning.

Q. I have a competition coming up. Can I shift the timing of my menstruation?

A. In some cases, we can advise you on methods to adjust the timing of menstruation with medication. We can consult with you about adjusting your condition to fit your competition schedule, so please visit us early, with plenty of time to spare.

Q. What happens if amenorrhea is left untreated?

A. If amenorrhea continues, there are concerns about effects such as weakened bones due to a decline in female hormones (a risk of stress fractures). As part of the “female athlete triad,” early action is important, so please consult us if you have any concerns.

Q. Do I need an appointment or a referral letter to be seen?

A. ppointments are given priority. Booking via the web or by phone (03-5280-1166) allows us to see you smoothly. A referral letter is not required, but please bring it with you if you have one.
