Hamada Hospital provides essential vaccinations for women’s health. We offer the HPV vaccine to prevent cervical cancer and the RSV vaccine (Abrysvo) to protect newborns (via maternal immunization) and adults aged 60+ from respiratory syncytial virus. Vaccinations are by appointment only; please call us to book.
HPV Vaccine (Gardasil 9)
- Protects against human papillomavirus (HPV), the main cause of cervical cancer.
- Administered as a series of three injections over six months.
- Available for women; minors must be accompanied by a parent for consent.
RSV Vaccine (Abrysvo)
- For pregnant women (weeks 28-36): A single dose creates antibodies that pass to the baby, protecting them from severe RSV for up to 6 months after birth. This is free for residents of Tokyo’s 23 wards.
- For adults aged 60 and over: A single dose helps prevent lower respiratory tract disease caused by RSV. The cost is ¥33,000 (tax included).
- Vaccinations are by appointment only and require a 30-minute observation period at the hospital.

Q. What kind of vaccine is the HPV vaccine?
A. HPV (human papillomavirus) is the main cause of cervical cancer. Receiving this vaccine helps prevent HPV infection and can be expected to reduce the future risk of cervical cancer. Our clinic uses the 9-valent vaccine Silgard 9 (Gardasil 9), which covers a wider range of HPV types. Please consider vaccination as one option for protecting your own health.
Q. I would like to get vaccinated. What should I do?
A. ll vaccinations at our clinic are by appointment only. If you would like to be vaccinated, please first call us at 03-5280-1166 to make a reservation. Vaccinations are available on weekdays from 9:00 to 11:00 in the morning and from 14:00 to 16:00 in the afternoon, and on Saturdays from 9:00 to 11:00 in the morning. Please feel free to ask about anything you are unsure of when making your reservation.
Q. Can minors be vaccinated?
A. Yes, minors can also be vaccinated. However, to ensure the vaccination proceeds safely, the consent of a parent or guardian is required. Please make a reservation and be sure to come to the clinic together with your parent or guardian on the day. On the day of vaccination, the doctor will explain the vaccine’s effects and possible side reactions, and the vaccination will be given only after your consent is obtained, so you can feel reassured.
Q. Please tell me the number of doses and the schedule.
A. The standard vaccination schedule consists of a total of 3 doses. After the first dose, the second dose is given 2 months later, and the third dose is given 6 months after the first dose. However, the timing of vaccination can also be adjusted to suit the patient’s schedule and physical condition. Q. How much does vaccination cost? Can public subsidies be used?
A. For HPV vaccination, there are cases in which you can use the public subsidy program and cases in which the vaccination is at your own expense. The eligibility conditions vary depending on factors such as age, so for details please check the information provided by your local municipality or contact our clinic. The specific cost will be explained to you at the time of your consultation.
