Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What kind of examination is the Fertility Check?
A. It is a gynecological health check-up that lets you understand the current condition of your body in preparation for a future pregnancy. Through blood tests to measure hormone levels, ultrasound examinations, and other tests, we assess ovarian function (ovarian reserve) and check whether there are any conditions of the uterus or ovaries that could interfere with pregnancy. It is suitable not only for those considering marriage or trying to conceive, but also for those who have no plans for pregnancy at present and would like to use it as an opportunity to think about their own life plan.
Q. Can the examination be completed in a single day, or are multiple visits required?
A. To ensure accurate results, you will need to visit us a total of two times, timed to your menstrual cycle. At the first visit, within 5 days of the start of your period, we perform a blood test to check hormone levels and other values. At the second visit, during the time after your period has ended and there is no bleeding, we perform an ultrasound examination to assess the condition of the uterus and ovaries. When you make your reservation, we will arrange the schedule to match your menstrual cycle, so please let us know your situation.
Q. I have undergone fertility treatment before. Can I still have this check?
A. This check is intended for those who have not previously had detailed examinations related to infertility. If you have already undergone infertility-related examinations or treatment at another clinic, we ask that you visit our general outpatient “Infertility Department” rather than taking this check. During the consultation, we will ask about your history so far and propose future examinations and a plan tailored to each individual patient.
Q. How much does the examination cost?
A. The Fertility Check consists of a “Basic Set” that brings together the fundamental examinations, and “Optional Examinations” that can be added according to your wishes. The cost varies depending on the examinations you choose. We will explain the detailed fees when you make your reservation by phone, so please feel free to contact us. Also, depending on the municipality where you live, you may be able to use a subsidy program.
Q. How will I find out the examination results?
A. pproximately one month after all examinations are completed, we will mail a report summarizing the results to your home. This check is intended only to confirm your current state of health; if you would like a detailed explanation of, or a consultation about, your results, a separate outpatient appointment is required. The purpose is to help you correctly understand the condition of your body and make use of it in your future life plan.
