Inpatient Guide for Gynecological Procedures

For patients scheduled for gynecological surgery or treatment at Hamada Hospital, this guide provides essential information to ensure a smooth and comfortable stay. We cover the process from admission to discharge, what to bring, and hospital rules, helping you focus on your recovery. Please do not hesitate to ask our staff if you have any questions.

Admission Process

  • Before your stay, you will undergo pre-operative tests (blood tests, ECG, X-ray) for your safety.
  • An orientation session will be held with a nurse to explain the procedure and hospital life. You will submit your admission forms and pay a hospital deposit at this time.
  • On the day of admission, please bring your My Number Card (or Health Insurance Card), Patient ID Card, and personal seal (inkan).
  • Rooms are assigned on the day of admission based on availability. Private and semi-private rooms are available for an additional fee.

Room Rates (Daily, incl. tax)

  • Shared Room (4 beds): ¥0 (includes TV, refrigerator)
  • Semi-Private Room (2 beds): ¥22,000 (includes TV, refrigerator)
  • Private Room: ¥33,000 (includes TV, refrigerator, toilet)
  • Deluxe Private Room: ¥66,000 (includes TV, refrigerator, toilet, shower)

During Your Stay

  • Please bring personal items such as toiletries, towels, a mug, slippers, and a sufficient supply of masks.
  • Visiting hours are from 14:00 to 19:00 daily, including weekends and holidays. Visitors with symptoms like fever or cough are asked to refrain from visiting.
  • Lights-out is at 21:00. Please refrain from making phone calls in shared rooms.
  • Family escorts are generally not required for surgical patients.

Discharge

  • Discharge is generally by 10:00 AM.
  • Please settle your final bill at the reception desk upon discharge. We accept cash and credit cards.
  • The initial hospital deposit will be deducted from your final bill. Please bring your deposit receipt.

Q. Can I choose my hospital room?

A. We assign rooms based on availability on the day of admission. In addition to shared rooms, you may choose a twin room, a private room, or a special room by paying the applicable additional room charge. Please understand in advance that we may not always be able to accommodate your request. We will explain the facilities and fees for each room during the admission orientation.

Q. Can I pay my hospitalization fees by credit card?

A. Yes, you can. Hospitalization fees are settled at the reception desk at the time of discharge, and payment can be made in cash or by various credit cards. If a hospitalization deposit was collected before admission, the difference will be adjusted in the settlement at discharge, so please remember to bring your deposit receipt.

Q. Is an attendant required during hospitalization?

A. s a rule, a family member or other attendant is not required for the hospitalization of patients undergoing surgery. So that patients can focus on their recovery with peace of mind, all of our staff, including doctors and nurses, will provide support. If you have any concerns or requests, please feel free to consult our staff at any time, either during the pre-admission orientation or during your hospital stay.

Q. Can I receive visitors during hospitalization?

A. Yes, you can. Visiting hours are from 14:00 to 19:00 every day, including Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. To prevent infection within the hospital, we ask that people with symptoms such as fever or cough, or those who are feeling unwell, refrain from visiting. We also ask visitors to cooperate by wearing a mask and disinfecting their hands. Thank you for your understanding.

Q. Please tell me what items I need to bring for hospitalization.

A. Please prepare your My Number card (or health insurance card), patient registration card, and personal seal (inkan), as well as personal items such as toiletries, towels, a mug, and slippers.
